50 Years of High Vacuum Technology Excellence

intlvac buildingIntlvac is a world leader in high vacuum technology and has become a key innovator in the Canadian high vacuum market. Originating in 1967 as Canadian Vacuum Equipment (CVE), Intlvac offers a variety of high vacuum components and systems to its customers. Space simulation chambers, custom sputtering and ebeam systems, leak detection systems, hydrogen sintering furnaces and nuclear fuel rod drying systems are some of the many products that have been supplied into the Canadian market.

In 1995, Canadian Vacuum Equipment of St Laurent, Quebec, merged with Process and Vacuum Technology in Halton Hills, Ontario to become Intlvac Inc. Process and Vacuum Technology was a Canadian company that had been supplying equipment to the Canadian semiconductor and optical coating industry. Shortly after that merger, Intlvac began supplying custom and standard vacuum systems. Intlvac’s goal is to provide intelligent vacuum solutions, ion beam milling systems and thin film coating systems. To date Intlvac has supplied over 100 systems to government institutions, universities and Fortune 100 companies located in Canada, the US, and around the world.

Intlvac’s engineering and software groups grew in number when they were commissioned in 1998 by Commonwealth Scientific of Virginia to build ion beam etch and sputter equipment. This growth allowed the Intlvac team to develop a number of standard systems. Research and development play a major role in the company’s technology edge leading to solutions for a variety of specific results and outcomes using physical vapor deposition and adhesion as well as low temperature ion beam milling.

Intlvac’s strength is that they offer a high degree of technical and process support. Intlvac has a thin film lab where we can produce small runs and develop processes for customers in their DLC PECVD coater; Ion Assisted electron beam evaporator; load locked sputtering system for noble metals, and their dual cathode AC and pulse DC (low frequency) sputtering system.

Today Intlvac Inc. is located in Halton Hills, Ontario and their sister company, Intlvac Thin Film, operates out of Fort Collins, Colorado. Intlvac provides sales and services, as well as parts and components for exclusively represented brands across Canada and the US.

Intlvac is honoured to be the 2017 recipient of the Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce Large Business of the Year. Our dedicated staff and commitment to service have enabled us to cap our 50th year with this prestigious award.
